Electric Blue : The soundtrack to Smokescreen

Before I ever wrote a book, I knew I wanted to write music to go alongside poetry. Each song on “Electric Blue” is titled & inspired by one of the poems in “Smokescreen” & is intended to communicate the same emotion as the words do.

It blends elements of spoken word, instrumental, ambient, cinematic and electronic. Weaving back & forth between song and poetry.

Two songs are collabs with friends of mine: David Pataconi co-produced the music for “Shift in Shadows.” His dark synth low end & heavy guitars hit hard for one of the darkest poems in my book.

MASSIVESAD produced “Intricate” with soothing soundscapes & blessed the track by adding some of his comforting “electronic butter” MASSIVESAD signature vocals. His musical style matched the mood of “Intricate” with emotional precision. Seth & David, thank you for contributing your time & talent to this project!

I also revived and remixed Sunset Roulett’s “Phantom (I Will Find You)” from our “Cast Your Shadow” EP. Page 9 of “Smokescreen” holds a poem called “Phantom” which is actually the result of a blackout poem I did with the original lyrics of this song that I wrote back in 2014.

“Electric Blue” completes the whole “Smokescreen” concept that I’ve poured my heart & tears into.
